Pediatric Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat)

Pediatric otolaryngologists, commonly referred to as ear, nose and throat doctors, diagnose and treat disorders such as sinusitis, tonsillitis and ear infections in children. Many ear, nose and throat illnesses are common in children and require clinical care by a physician or other health care professional. Saint Peter’s Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology is here to help parents and children with any ENT concerns.
  1. Ear problems include:
    1. Hearing problems
    2. Ear infections
    3. Balance disorders
    4. Ringing or other sounds in the ear (tinnitus)
    5. Some cranial nerve disorders, such as facial paralysis
  2. Nose problems include:
    1. Blocked nasal passages due to crooked cartilage, polyps, or swollen glands
    2. Problems with smell
    3. Sinus infections
    4. Nose bleeds
  3. Throat problems include:
    1. Voice box (larynx) diseases (growths on vocal cords)
    2. Tonsillitis or tonsil stones
    3. Voice disorders (hoarseness)
    4. Swallowing disorders
  4. Head and neck problems include:
    1. Nerves that control smell, taste, hearing, and the face
    2. Infectious diseases
    3. Noncancerous (benign) and cancerous (malignant) tumors
    4. Facial injury or deformities
    5. Thyroid and parathyroid diseases
    6. Salivary gland disorders or growths
    7. Cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery
    8. Sleep disorders
