President’s Golf Classic Raises Almost $200,000 for Saint Peter’s Healthcare System
September 26, 2022
Saint Peter’s Foundation’s President’s Golf Classic was held on September 12 at The Ridge at Back Brook in Ringoes, NJ. The outing sold out in record time and raised almost $200,000 for Saint Peter’s Healthcare System.
The President’s Golf Classic is an annual fundraising event that has raised over $4 million in unrestricted funding for Saint Peter’s Healthcare System since the first outing in 1987. Funds raised have allowed the healthcare system to renovate existing or construct new clinical spaces such as the operating room and the Mary V. O’Shea Birth Center; purchase a new community mobile health van; and fund medical equipment supporting patient care, including cardiac and fetal monitors, a biopsy machine, ultrasound machines, anesthesia units and various surgical devices and equipment. These are just a few examples of how funds raised through this event impact health care delivered at Saint Peter’s.
Harry Sassaman of Forest Electric Corporation returned as chair of the event for the second year in a row and led a committee of community members to host the two most successful golf outings in Saint Peter’s history. Saint Peter’s holds a special place in Mr. Sassaman’s heart not only because he is a longtime supporter, but because he was born at Saint Peter’s University Hospital.
Robert Tronolone of Forest Electric Corporation served as vice chairman and was joined by the following individuals: Jonathan Ammann, Southwire; Chris Brazill, Brazill Brothers & Associates, Inc.; Judith T. Caruso, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, Caruso Consulting, and member of Saint Peter’s Healthcare System Board of Governors; Harry Chowansky, HC Constructors; Richard Guditus, Highland Associates; Michael Kasian, Tishman Construction, an AECOM company; Michael McCormick, Pavese-McCormick Agency, Inc., and member of Saint Peter’s Foundation Board of Trustees; Craig Plescia, ELYSIUM; and Jeffrey S. Rainforth, Phelps Construction Group.
The day included golf on the award-winning course at The Ridge at Back Brook, dinner, and a live auction that featured donated foursomes to golf courses throughout New Jersey, sports tickets and other memorable experiences.
