Kristy T.S. Palomares, MD, PhD, is a Perinatologist and principal research physician in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. Along with earning her medical degree from Boston University, Dr. Palomares obtained a doctorate degree in biomedical engineering. Following graduation from medical and graduate school, she completed a residency in OB/GYN and a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. At Saint Peter’s, Dr. Palomares participates in all aspects of high-risk pregnancy care including prenatal care, ultrasound, management of complex medical conditions, and inpatient antepartum care for complicated pregnancies.
Dr. Palomares has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in the field of maternal-fetal medicine. Under Dr. Palomares’ direction, Saint Peter’s has been a participant in the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units (MFMU) network as a subunit of the Columbia University New Brunswick site. As the sub-site principal investigator of the MFMU network activity at Saint Peter’s, Dr. Palomares is responsible for oversight of all the MFMU projects and several of the projects undertaken as part of the Perinatal Research Consortium (PRC). She supervises a staff of five research coordinators.
Ashwin Jadhav, MD, FACOG

Ashwin Jadhav, MD, is a Perinatologist in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Saint Peter’s University Hospital and a member of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Jadhav earned his medical degree at the N.D.M.V.P. Samaj’s Medical College in Nasik, India, and completed his OB/GYN residency training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine Program at Queens Hospital Center in New York. He pursued a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at New York University Langone Medical Center. Following the completion of his fellowship program, Dr. Jadhav joined the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Department at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School as a consulting physician specialist and assistant professor.
Janelle Foroutan, MD

Janelle Foroutan, MD, is a Perinatologist in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. Dr. Foroutan earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed a research fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital. Dr. Foroutan’s practice focuses on women with high-risk pregnancies. Her interests include diabetes, chronic hypertension, and preterm delivery. She also specializes in fetal ultrasound.
Dr. Foroutan’s research has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals. Since 2017, she has provided oversight as the principal investigator for several national research consortiums. She is a volunteer faculty member at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine.
Kristin Kelly, APN

Kristin Kelly, APN, has been a member of the Saint Peter’s University Hospital’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division since 2017. Kristin has over 25 years of experience in nursing and substantial experience in caring for high-risk mothers with complicated pregnancies. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kean University and earned her graduate degree with Summa Cum Laude honors from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School). Kristin is a member of the Association of Nurse Practitioners in Family Medicine and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses.
She has dedicated her professional career to advocating and caring for pregnant women and their families. Her practice philosophy is simple: give each patient the very best care possible and make a positive impact in their lives.
Joanne Pecoraro, RN

Joanne Pecoraro is a nurse practitioner specializing in high-risk obstetrical care at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. Joanne has been a family nurse practitioner for two decades and has experience as a childbirth educator and lactation consultant. She is a member of the New Jersey State Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Joanne obtained her nursing diploma from Kings County Hospital in New York. She continued her education by receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Hunter Bellevue School of Nursing in New York, NY. Joanne then obtained her Master of Science degree in Nursing from Rutgers University in Newark.
