The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at The Children’s Hospital at Saint Peter’s University Hospital is renowned for its care of the tiniest and most fragile of infants born at Saint Peter’s, and for those transported from area hospitals for specialty care. The staff of specially trained doctors and nurses and other healthcare providers, including a neonatal-trained pharmacist, respiratory therapist, social worker and nutritionist, provide the most comprehensive neonatal care in the state for newborns and infants with medical problems.
We understand that it is stressful to have a baby hospitalized in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Our NICU educators – trained nurses – provide educational instruction for parents during hospitalization and upon baby’s discharge.
