Pediatric Respiratory Care Services

Saint Peter’s University Hospital is one of close to 700 hospitals out of the 5,000 hospitals in the U.S. – and the only one in central New Jersey – named a Quality Respiratory Care institution. The Respiratory Care Department at Saint Peter's University Hospital is an essential part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team that works in collaboration with physicians and nurses to provide compassionate, comprehensive, and individual expert care through therapeutic and diagnostic services.

Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPs) work at Saint Peter’s University Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU),  The Children's Hospital at Saint Peter’s University Hospital  in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), two pediatric care units and the Dorothy B. Hersh Pediatric Emergency Department.
 

• Conventional ventilator management, including Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist (NAV)

• High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV)

• Nitric Oxide administration

• Heliox therapy delivery and monitoring   

• Intubation assistance

• Aerosolized medication therapy education and administration

 • Internal and external critical care transportation.
