Meet the Staff of Saint Peter’s Physical Rehabilitation Services

Meredith Rassam, PT

Meredith Rassam, PT, MSPT, MS
Assistant Director

Meredith graduated from Northeastern University in 2003 with her Master’s in Physical Therapy. Meredith also completed her master’s degree in Nutrition in 2010. She has been working at Saint Peter’s Physical Rehabilitation Services since 2004 and has enjoyed working with a wide range of orthopedic conditions and abilities. She enjoys helping people reach their goals, whether it be competing in marathons, playing high school/collegiate sports, walking their dogs or playing with children/grandchildren. She believes each person is unique and is proud of the individual attention she is able to give each client she works with. In addition to working with all orthopedic conditions, Meredith is qualified to treat all women’s health conditions. She specializes in pregnancy related pain, post-partum return to activity and urinary incontinence, various kinds of pelvic pain and pelvic organ prolapse. When she is not at work, Meredith enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys by hiking, biking, doing yoga and traveling.


Julia Lee - SPUH

Julia Tompa, PT, MSPT
Staff Therapist Julia earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Boston University. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science and a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Julia graduated from a COMTA accredited program at the Somerset School of Massage. She has since practiced in inpatient acute care, sub-acute rehab, and hospital-based outpatient orthopedics, as well as owned a massage pain management studio. She takes an eclectic approach to her physical therapy treatment but relies heavily on the manual techniques she has honed while working in the various areas of rehab.


George Malliaros SPUH

George Malliaros, PT, MSPT
Staff Therapist George received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Physical Therapy from the College of Staten Island. He has taken continuing education classes in trigger point cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine therapies. He is currently working toward a certification in manual therapy from the University of Saint Augustine. George has a vast knowledge and several years of experience with orthopedic and neurological dysfunctions including sport injuries and degenerative conditions.


Michael Phelan

Micahel Phelan, DPT
Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey in Music and earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rutgers School of Health Professions. Michael’s primary experience is in the outpatient orthopedic setting. He is certified by the American Institute of Balance in Vestibular Rehabilitation to treat to treat patients with symptoms of vertigo, dizziness, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), motion sensitivity, and balance. Prior to a career change to physical therapy, Michael was the owner of a construction company. As a result, his philosophy towards treatment is that of building a strong foundation. He gained a strong affinity to sports physical therapy after suffering an ankle fracture while mountain biking 10 years ago. Michael continues to be an avid cyclist who enjoys mountain biking and rode riding. Michael utilizes a combination of manual therapy techniques and task-specific therapeutic exercises to help patients heal and return to their routine prior to injury.

Stephanie Brennen

Stephanie Brennan, PT, DPT
Stephanie earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Kean University. She attended graduate school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She specializes in orthopedic and sports physical therapy and has taken continuing education courses involving manual therapy techniques, Kinesiotaping, and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). She also has experience working in acute care and pediatric settings.


Michael Phelan

Annie Cosentino,
Annie earned her bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from DeSales University in 2015. While at DeSales, Annie was a member of the division 3 softball team. Annie went on to complete her doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rutgers University in 2018. While at Rutgers, Annie took part in a research project that examined how symptoms of concussion differ among individuals of both sexes. Annie's primary experience is in the outpatient orthopedic setting. She enjoys helping individuals of all ages reach their goals and return to the activities they enjoy.


Doremus Brielle

Brielle Doremus,
Brielle earned her bachelor’s degree in Health & Exercise Science from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in 2013. It was at TCNJ that she also competed on the women’s division 3 track and field team where she earned All American Honors. After completing her undergraduate education, Brielle studied physical therapy at Rutgers University where she earned her doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2016. Since graduating, Brielle has worked primarily in the outpatient hospital setting where she has been able to hone her skills in treating a variety of orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions. Brielle enjoys working with patients of all ages. She also enjoys when she can think outside of the box to keep therapy fun and exciting.


Doremus Brielle

Ariel Joseph, PT, DPT
Ariel received her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Touro College in New York City. She started her career working in outpatient neurology and is certified in LSVT-BIG treatment for Parkinson's disease. Her love for sports medicine was cultivated during a student clinical affiliation where she worked with collegiate and professional athletes. She enjoys combining her skills from both her neurologic and orthopedic experiences in guiding patients of all levels of functional mobility back to the activities that they love. Ariel enjoys being creative in her treatment plans to make exercise as engaging and relevant as possible.
