What you need to know prior to your arrival to Saint Peter’s

Due to the increases in emergency department visits and hospitalizations related to COVID-19, seasonal flu and RSV throughout New Jersey, Saint Peter’s University Hospital is requiring masking of visitors when within 6 feet of a non-COVID patient in our ongoing efforts to maintain a healthy and safe environment. Visitors are required to wear a surgical loop mask appropriately, fully covering the nose and mouth.

Masking is mandatory in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Visitors are asked to refrain from visiting if you have any symptoms related to COVID-19, RSV and/or the flu.

Symptoms may change with new COVID-19 variants and can vary depending on vaccination status. Possible symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, new loss of taste or smell, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea.

Hand hygiene is the most effective way to help decrease the spread of infection. Please remember to wash your hands before entering any patient areas.

Saint Peter’s University Hospital provides general patient visitation from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, while maintaining a safe, secure and healing environment. Extended visitation by a support person will be coordinated through the Nursing unit leadership.

Proper identification must be provided at all points of entry. Visitors must present a valid driver's license, or a government approved photo ID to enter the hospital.
