Community Health
When you can’t get to Saint Peter’s University Hospital for health screenings and educational programs, Saint Peter’s comes out to you. Our staff of advance practice nurses and registered nurses travel to neighboring communities throughout Middlesex and Somerset Counties, in particular those areas where health care services may be limited. Community Health Services provides services at schools, retirement communities, day care centers, homeless shelters, senior centers, public housing complexes, shopping centers, churches and corporations.

In 2018, Community Health Services visited 314 sites, and provided one or more health services to more than 13,000 individuals. A variety of sites were visited where health screenings and education were provided to diverse populations.
Community Health Unit
Our 34-foot health van has traveled thousands of miles throughout central New Jersey visiting schools, retirement communities, day care centers, homeless shelters, senior centers, public housing complexes, shopping centers, and corporations. Our Community Health Unit is licensed by the New Jersey State Department of Health. We now provide primary health services on our mobile health van parked in the Sacred Heart Church parking lot on selected dates in 2019. The van is a symbol of our commitment to Saint Peter’s mission to serve the community.
