Saint Peter’s Audiology Services offers comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation services to children with hearing impairments and disorders resulting from injury, disease or other causes, as well as evaluation for vestibular and balance disorders. Diagnostic testing procedures and services are available by appointment.
Our licensed audiologists each hold a clinical doctoral degree and certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and are licensed in audiology and hearing aid dispensing by the state of New Jersey. Our staff is trained to diagnose and treat hearing loss and vestibular disorders.
Common reasons why a child may need a hearing test include:
- Speech delay
- Frequent ear infections
- Not responding to his/her name
- Poor academic performance
- Failed hearing screenings
- Family history of hearing loss
Pediatric Audiology services include:
- Tympanometry
- Acoustic reflex testing
- Otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing
- Sedated and natural sleep auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing
- Pure tone audiometry
- Conditioned play audiometry
- Visual reinforcement audiometry
- Hearing aid services including bone anchored hearing aids
